See Clearly. Be seen clearly.

Tia Collier, Principal

Tia is a strategist known for navigating complexity and consistently finding a way forward. For nearly two decades, she has been trusted with high-priority initiatives, delivering sound judgment, strategic communication, and clear, visionary plans that attract investment and generate momentum.

Before launching Lucent Partners, Tia held leadership positions across government, higher education, and the nonprofit sector. Her experience includes serving as a senior congressional staff member, founding director of a university-community initiative, and senior project manager supporting education and workforce initiatives at a national think tank. Across those roles, she helped organizations secure funding, strengthen partnerships, lead cross-sector initiatives, and translate ambitious ideas into actionable strategy.

Her fundraising experience began when she inherited a community development project with more ideas than investments. As uncertainty grew around one highly anticipated funding stream and partner buy-in began to wane, Tia introduced new possibilities. She built renewed excitement around the vision using the power of storytelling, restructured the work into a phased implementation strategy, and successfully pursued new funding opportunities that allowed the initiative to begin delivering results while positioning it for future investment. That experience sparked a passion for resource development and marked the beginning of her specialization in helping organizations strategically pursue ambitious opportunities and steward complex, multi-funder grant portfolios.

Throughout her career, Tia has seen firsthand what’s possible when organizations are supported by partners who appreciate their mission, understand their realities, and are genuinely invested in their success. Having lived inside the work and remained immersed in community, Tia founded Lucent to be that partner. Today, she delivers her expertise to help organizations better understand their strengths and unique positioning, sharpen existing work, and secure resources to unlock greater opportunities that move their missions forward.
